I visited the Norman Petty Recording Studios in Clovis, New Mexico on Oct. 17, 2007. Buddy Holly and the Crickets are among the many musicians who recorded here in the 1950s and 1960s. Thanks to studio manager Ken Broad and his wife for their hospitality.

The tape is a safety copy of some Buddy Holly masters. Ken played "Heartbeat" and other songs while I was there.
Maybe Baby - Ampex Recorder - Buddy Holly
This may be the tape recorder that Norman Petty brought to Oklahoma City while the Crickets were on tour. "Maybe Baby" and three other songs were recorded there in the Officers Club Lounge on the Tinker Air Force Base in September, 1957.
